Tattie Day 2025 Success!

Tattie Day 2025 was an exciting and vibrant celebration of gardening, potatoes, and community spirit, held in Drumnadrochit, Glen Urquhart, at the Glen Urquhart Public Hall. This year’s event brought together gardening enthusiasts, families, and food lovers for a day of fun, learning, and sharing. Thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable day!

Highlights from Tattie Day 2025

Visitors had the chance to browse and purchase a wide variety of seed potatoes, including first earlies, second earlies, and main crops. For the first time, attendees could also pick up veggie plugs from the Abriachan Community Garden, giving them a head start on the growing season. It was the perfect opportunity for both seasoned gardeners and beginners to get everything they needed for their gardens!

As always, Tattie Day was a chance to swap seeds with fellow gardeners. There were plenty of opportunities for visitors to exchange their surplus seeds, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

One of the standout features of this year’s Tattie Day was the local food offerings available at both the Glen Urquhart Public Hall and the Urquhart & Glenmoriston Church Hall. The mini food market at the Church Hall featured fresh produce and handmade goods from local farms and businesses, providing a real taste of what our area has to offer. Visitors enjoyed delicious food from amazing vendors while supporting local businesses.

A big thank you to everyone who generously donated to the Glen Urquhart Horticultural Society at the event. Thanks to your support, we raised a total of £720, which will help fund future events and initiatives, including making next year’s Tattie Day even bigger and better!

Whether you were picking up advice from fellow gardeners, enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Glen Urquhart, or discovering new varieties of tatties, the day was filled with connection and inspiration.
