Building Confidence and Community Through Rugby
We’re proud to support Glen Urquhart Rugby Football Club with a Tier 1 grant that’s making a real difference to their players and the wider rugby community. The grant enabled the club to purchase 2 Rhino Crash Mats and 2 Rhino Powa Shields, essential equipment for creating a safe and supportive training environment.
These mats and shields are invaluable for helping young players develop the skills and confidence needed to transition from touch rugby to full contact. By reducing the fear of tackling and emphasising safety, the equipment allows coaches to create engaging and productive sessions tailored to players of all abilities.
One parent shared this lovely feedback about the impact of the new equipment:
“The tackle mats and pads have been a game-changer. My child was struggling with the transition from touch to contact rugby and wasn’t enjoying it as much as before. The introduction of the mats gave them the confidence to attempt tackling, and now they’re loving rugby again!”
It’s wonderful to see the positive impact this initiative is having – not only on individual players but also on the spirit of the team and the local rugby community.
Glen Urquhart Rugby Football Club recently shared a fantastic video thanking all of us at Soirbheas and showcasing the new equipment. With permission from GURFC you can watch it here:
We’re delighted to support projects like this, which ensure rugby remains a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
